Since 1975, I had been dreaming of instant programming. With a wave of a magic wand, I wanted to be able to listen to a playlist of music that expressed, for example, the ‘dreamy’ emotions of the Romantic era, the ‘enthusiastic’ emotions of the modern era, or the ‘anxious’ emotions of the modern era, to illustrate a film.

Or savour all of Mozart's ‘andantes’; Callas' most famous arias; the best songs by Piaf, Brel and Dylan; good old rock “n” roll; Leonard Bernstein and jazz, an anthology of Ella Fitzgerald...

Fifty years later, thanks to an insatiable passion and breathtaking technology, the dream has become a reality.

It's called Melodibank.
